Please call me Miss. Shanahan

Maisie’s friend K has a large white board and though Maisie has small ones she’s been asking for a large board.  I finally got a big board for her along with the new Crayola Dry Erase Crayons (which I’m still deciding if I really like or not). Maisie immediately set up her classroom, asked me to call her Miss. Shanahan and started teaching me how multiplication and division work backward and forward.

IMG_9473eMaisie really enjoys doing math and being my teacher and I’m always happy to learn.  She though writes the problems and the answers and I just agree with her.  I love that she doesn’t need my help at all.

Maisie starts school on August 15 and is so excited, counting down the days.  This morning we tried on her uniforms and after two years in her uniform shirts she’s finally getting new ones in size 4 as she’s outgrown the size 3’s.  Her skorts, shorts & fleeces all still fit so she’ll be wearing those for a third year.  Even though the skorts & shorts still fit I did purchase a few new ones so the girl has quite a collection of bottoms.

One of my favorite flavors of summer is fresh figs with chèvre and balsamic vinegar.  Yesterday I put all those flavors in a Panini and the results were delightful.IMG_9455eTo make this wonderful Grilled Chèvre & Fig Panini check out Cook Lisa Cook for all the details.
